I think the exact words he’s singing are ‘aaaa ah bla bla bla”. No joke.
So Im 3 episodes away from completing the last season of Friends.
It’s too painful. And I have this impending hollow and empty feeling.
Who doesn’t love Friends? We laughed and cried with them. We teared when Chandler proposed to Monica, we also teared when Rachel gave birth to Emma and we (okay I) teared even when Joey moved out the apartment he and Chandler shared, we couldn’t stand Joey sometimes but he is disgustingly funny and funnily stupid (“Hey Ross, if the homosapiens are really in fact, homo-sapiens. Is that why they are extinct?) omg and his classic “How ya doin’?” and how he can be so loyal, sweet and adorably naive sometimes. We sympatised with Phoebe’s childhood but cannot help but admire her strength and tenacity despite that, her weirdness and how she’s ALWAYS the sensible and calm one when everybody else is not. And how we were so happy for her when she married Mike and we thought “Phoebe finally got her break.” Who could forget Ross’s “UNAGI” and “PIVOT! PIVOTTTTT!” and how Rachel and Phoebe scared him in his apartment by hiding behind the curtains and yelled “GRILLED EELLLLL” or Phoebe’s alternative name: “Princess Consueila Banannaham” and omg, SMELLY CAT ; Monica’s OCD and her hilarious dance with Ross ; Joey’s obsession with his toy penguin, his and Chandler’s pet duck and chicken (wonder what happened to them) ; Rachel’s and Chandler’s fight over the cheesecake that doesn’t even belong to them ; Chandler’s I-use-humour-as-a-defense-mechanism? And so many other instances. LIKE UGLY NAKED GUY AND how the 6 of them made a long stick with chopsticks to poke him to see if he is alive or not HAHA.
I am actually genuinely sad that Im done watching all the seasons. I don’t think there is or will ever be a show like Friends. How it affected us and while watching it, actually think this 6 people exist, that’s just amazing.
And I think I can actually write a full-length essay on Friends if I really put my heart into it haha.
THEY NEED TO HAVE A SPECIAL MOVIE REUNION OR SOMETHING.
(It’s amazing how they act so well even in front of a live studio audience. Chemistry is amazing.)
